The Writing Record is about unpacking the creative process, gathering inspiration from around the web, and a reminder that our art matters, no matter where we come from! Produced by J. Alejandro.
Here’s a few things that jumpstarted my creativity this week:
- The Matrix Resurrection trailer is here! A few thoughts about it as well as reminiscing about the original Matrix film, and how it informed the way I think about storytelling. Kickass!
- This reddit thread about a courageous bird and its predator in a moment of truce. Something to think about.
- I stumbled upon information about Japanese woodblock artist from the early 1900s, Goyō Hashiguchi. Check out his wonderful work! I was really taken by the color palette of each painting. It blows my mind how they used to create such amazing work. True artists to learn from!
*Quick Correction: I said William Goldman when I meant William GIBSON as the author of the massively influential Neuromancer. I am tired and I don’t edit this podcast because I am working on my public speaking. Sorry about that folks.
Make art. Much love,
