I talked it out at lunchtime and recorded the third episode of The Writing Record! It’s not so much a podcast, but me documenting my writing process to better examine what my approach is. The first project I’m discussing on it is my children’s book named Charlie Bird. I found the theme and it was the best! Subscribe to check out this confessional style writing podcast/journal about the writing process, thoughts on creativity, and other emotional notes. It’s insanely liberating to be open about my writing progress, shortcomings, and victories. Welcome!
Finished the Charlie Bird Draft. Left a little in the tank to fix it up tomorrow.
The value of the pocket notebook is starting to make its way into the work. The act of gathering is one of my favorites. Do you carry a notebook everywhere you go?
On this lunchtime podcast recording, I go over the recent surprises that responsibility throws at you, Lucky for us, that work/life pendulum swings just right for us to make the push for creativity. There is time to be fulfilled, there is time for art.
This status report is an overview of what I’m up to, and how I intend to use my upcoming short-form projects to provide avenues for creative collaboration in my community. A bunch of theories on the verge of practical application. Come along!
How about a throwback to the early 2000s chatting about Steven Soderbergh’s superior remake of Ocean’s Eleven. We spoil the hell out of this one, so if you haven’t seen a 20+ year old film, we apologize.
We bring back the uplifting news headline and bring you some well needed joy around these parts!
And raving about a new concert opportunity, can’t wait! Thanks for joining us as we continue our experiment!
My cats seriously brought on the banter today, throwing up and tumbling over chairs as I tried to discuss how we can get an outline done if we only overcome fear. This is what I get for recording at lunch time. Hope you had a Happy Halloween!!!
Just in the nick of time, we got our podcast episode in! Very proud of ourselves, much wow:
Madd could not wait to share some thoughts on Stephen King’s latest, The Institute. She read it like a mad person in record time so let’s hear some critical and emotional reactions!
Just when we thought it couldn’t get more obvious, this Ukraine business gets blown wide open by Bill Taylor’s statement to Congress. Will the Democrats continue to twiddle their thumbs or impeach? Let’s rage together!
Lastly, we wanted to spend a few minutes praising and sharing our love for the one and only holiday classic The Nightmare Before Christmas. Now it’s a family tradition our kid can enjoy with us!
Also, we tried watching the new Star Wars trailer but we refuse to go to Disney jail, so instead of playing it in the background, you will hear us reacting to dead silence. It was wonderful.
Happy to be back as we celebrated Madd’s birthday this weekend!
In honor of the little adventures we had this weekend, we thought to keep things slightly local and chat about Casper and some of the cool things to do this weekend. Casper ain’t so bad! Also, we are in no way, shape or form affiliated with the City of Casper nor its marketing entities. What the hell, can’t I just say something nice about Casper?
Since it’s spooky scary October, we’re doing blurbs and quick shoutouts to our favorite spooky scary films. This time around we babble on and rejoice in the 70s joy of Richard Donner’s The Omen. Catholic guilt, here we go again!
Lastly, a breakthrough! Madd and I find a new way to cover the news! Give it a listen!
On this episode, we’d like to share our first reaction to Bill Burr’s hilarious new comedy special, Paper Tiger.
We try the Reddit News Headlines Recap under a time crunch, and Maddie gives us some immediate responses after checking out the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s IT (the first chapter). Scary spooky movies are definitely not her thing.
